CDL 12: Vacances et Voyages
We travel and only sometimes seem to arrive, the longest journey our ultimately unknowable destination. The only thing that remains for us is to observe the winds and currents which hinder or assist our passage.
ABOUT CINEMA DU LYON
Cinema du Lyon are a European art/music group who compose with found sound, poetry, visual art, electronic and acoustic instruments, stressing a philosophy of "existential pretentiousness".
Amoral rather than immoral, they shun formula at the same time as using it subversively with the intention of creating a free and unfettered space for their consummate artistry to reconstruct the sensory landscape of an unprepared and unexpectedly bemused audience.
They first came to public attention in 2004 when during a mesmerising one hour show at the Hanbury Ballroom, Brighton, actors and photographers took the role of the group, distributing champagne, flowers and chocolate.
Since then they have played live in non-music public spaces, art galleries, back gardens and underground clubs in Europe, Quebec and Scandinavia, whilst maintaining a highly popular podcast.
